Five Bays – Waiheke Island
With so many stunning bays and beaches on Waiheke, it sometimes gets a bit tricky knowing where to go that is why we have made it easy for you with our Top 5 Beaches.
Oneroa Bay (Big O)
Runs below Waiheke’s main village of Oneroa, Big O is the perfect introduction to the Waiheke vibe. Check out the shops, cafes & galleries then relax gazing out over to the Coromandel ranges. Safe mooring makes it a regular stop over for boaties exploring the gulf.
Little Oneroa Beach, or Little O to the locals.
Great, family friendly beach with everything you need for a fab day out. Safe swimming, rocks to climb and a playground for the smaller members of the family. You can spark up the free gas BBQ’s and make use of the ample picnic area. Also home to Dragonfired Pizza and Little O Fish & Chips. Grab a coffee or a bottle of wine from the Little O Beach Store and you are sorted!
Sandy Bay
Small, secluded bay away from the main tourist route. Grab your mask & flippers for some great snorkeling here or at neighboring Enclosure Bay.
Palm Beach
Palm Beach is very popular with its pristine white sand, two BBQ areas and a family playground. Enjoy an ice cream from the Beach Store or something a little more substantial at Arcadia Bar & Restaurant.
Onetangi Beach
Waiheke’s longest beach is host to many holiday homes and for good reason. Excellent swimming and fishing, and even a bit of surf if a northerly wind comes through. And a choice of eating options with Charlie Farley’s, 372 and Ki Maha right on the beach front, or make use of the public BBQ area.
It goes without saying that eBikes are the best way to explore the island so you can set your own itinerary at your own pace. We look forward to helping you plan your Waiheke Island adventure so call us on 021 818 001 or email [email protected].
